After owning the Hindquarter Bar & Grille for more than 25 years, we listed our business with Rex Walters of Coast Business Brokerage. The time had come to let go and we wanted someone who would understand our desire to pass on the venerable landmark to passionate yet qualified buyers. As with most business transactions, the process hit a few glitches, but Rex and his team (Ken and Sylvia) guided us and the buyers through the maize of everything from lenders to the ABC. They were always accessible and professional in keeping us informed, answering our questions and addressing our concerns promptly and truthfully. Their "Aloha spirit" proved to be a true asset, especially when the going bogged down or was a bit rocky.

"I tried unsuccessfully to sell my business for the past several years through a national broker. Then I took a different approach and called a local broker, Rex Walters. He recommended a "merger" which allows me to stay on during tax season ~ perfect for my semi-retirement situation. Not only did he find the perfect "cash" buyer, but the sale closed in less than 30 days, unheard of in this economy. His ability to effectively communicate through each step of the process was invaluable. Needless to say, I'm extremely pleased with the transaction and highly recommend Rex to anyone contemplating a business sale."

Ronnie Kishlansky, Santa Cruz CA

"I knew it was going to be an up-hill battle to find the right buyer to carry on the legacy of my well-loved, local surf shop business during slowing economic times. Rex inspired me throughout the process, did great pricing and data collection, was courteous and friendly, producing multiple buyers. The results were perfect! I could not have been more pleased with the guidance and inspiration that Rex provided!"

Sally Smith, Owner, Paradise Surf Shop, Santa Cruz, CA

"Working with Rex was a positive and fluid process. He was informed about every aspect of the sales process, and managed to absorb all the headaches and details that would've sucked my time or ruined my attitude. He maintains a consistent and professional approach and is resilient when it comes to getting the job done. I would be happy to work with Rex again and can confidently recommend him to my friends."

- Zach Worthington, Owner, Cava Wine and Beer Bar, Capitola, CA

“Rex was awesome! He answered all our questions in a clear and timely manner, and helped us step-by-step throughout the process. I always felt comfortable discussing issues that came up through the process. He took care of negotiations for us resulting in a win-win situation. He understood our feelings about our business yet valued it so that it could sell.
He is smart, honest, clear thinker, and knows his business. I would highly recommend Rex to anyone considering selling their business and would have him be my broker if I had another business to sell.”
